Merbunity - Recent Content Feed

Well it’s been a long time coming. Merb 1.0 is finally out :D Ezra has a post on it at his blog Thanx so much to everyone who helped get merb 1.0 up to speed and out the door. This is a fantastic milestone. Congratulations to everyone involved. You should be able to get merb now (or soon) with a simple gem install merb

Merb auth is pretty new, pretty different and since it was made public at Merbcamp, pretty quiet. In this tutorial I’ll go through the basics of what it is and how it works.

Yehuda has just pushed up the Merb 1.0 RC2 gems. This is mostly bug fixes from the RC1 release that was done just after Merb Camp. There are a couple of new things in there based on feedback from RC1.

Merb Camp was a blast. There’s heaps of great things that came from it. It’s late considering that there’s already a bunch of news out there about this.

At sunny San Diego the 1st official Merb Sprint is taking place. It’s probably not a good idea to be grabbing new copies of Merb directly from github. We’re moving a few things around in a coordinated effort to make Merb seriously simple. :)

There’s a bit of confusion about how to use slices like merb-auth with the new router. The once global named routes are now no longer working. Here’s how to fix it.

For those of you who are in London and can’t make it to Merb Camp in SD, you can go along to Merb Outpost Good times with other Merbists, and a live feed to the happenings at Merb Camp :D

Our last release – 0.9.6 – already introduced the new bundle behaviour, set to replace what was formerly known as the freezer. With 0.9.7 we were able to streamline the code and workflow furher.

Hurry up to register to MerbCamp before it’s too late.

The Merb project has been updated with a radical new caching system.

Well merb camp is already shaping up to be an awesome event. There’s now a place where you can suggest a talk, vote for it, comment on it, and even claim it (via a comment for the admins) So far there are some great talks suggested and I’m sure the community will be able to come up with many more.
