RARE BIG-BLOCK MOPAR MUSCLE - 1966 DODGE POLARA (7,950)

Rare, low, long and evil-looking 383 cubic inch (6.2 litre) 2-door Dodge Big-Block MOPAR Muscle Car for sale. This may be the only one in the UK, but being based on the same underpinnings as all "C-body" cars, is easy & cheap to get parts for in future. Please do not underestimate how hard it is to find a rust-free and original "survivor car" like this, which has just been shipped from the USA. It is now UK registered, MOT'd until June 2009 and of course is TAX EXEMPT. It is a very original matching numbers 1966 Dodge Polara 2-door pillarless hardtop showing around 110k miles with 383cid big-block engine option, very strong re-lined drum brakes all round and a newly re-built 3-speed automatic transmission with column shift. A "West Coast" Oregon car (no road salt) this impressive and, most importantly, totally rust-free C-body is still wearing its' original dark metallic green paint with scratches and imperfections but fabulous patina. Personally, I wouldn't paint it as it wears it's 42 years with pride, but new paint on this body style would of course make it stunning. Your choice. It has a really excellent black bucket seat interior with new headliner, carpets, trunk mat (still new in box), straight doorcards and a wonderful looking original dash with no cracks and the original in-built "Dodge Music Master" radio. It rolls on period correct vintage 14" American Racing 5-spoke "A" wheels (not the modern impression) with fully treaded wide BF Goodrich Comp T/A tyres. I can swap these for an excellent set of very wide chrome steels and hubcaps (10" wide rears) if you prefer. When changing the wheels I couldn't help noticing that the car also looks equally fantastic, just different and more agressive, with the rear raised up - something else to think about! The car has recently had a thorough and fully documented mechanical overhaul in the USA before shipping including the rebuilt transmission, completely re-bushed suspension using OEM parts and with a 1 ¼" Firm Feel front sway bar added, re-conditioned power steering pump and box, new brake shoes (drums all round and very strong), new fluids & filters throughout, original Oregon number plates in the boot, original fender tag & chassis ID plate plus a period column mounted "Sun" tachometer and seatbelts front & rear. It is now MOT'd and UK "historic" registered, so is tax exempt. It is seriously good fun to drive or ride in and sounds like thunder with a new custom-made dual exhaust system. Scare as many pedestrians as you like. This Dodge sits right, runs strong and looks way better and more interesting than anything else you are ever likely to meet on the road. I am not aware of another in the U.K. and with very few survivors of this model even in the US it represents a rare and exclusive MOPAR muscle find. Miss this and there simply won't be another one.
