I have to ask myself why I “need” this application, because I already have SO many. I think this would be really great for a photographer’s website or a gallery website, but I don’t have one of those. On the other hand, I could see using it to print cards with framed photos, making a nice screensaver, using some of the framed items on any website, and an assortment of things I’m sure I could think up along the way, so I am sorely tempted to buy it.

At first, before I tried it and watched the screencasts, I thought the regular price was way too high. Now that I’ve tried it, I still think it might be a little high, but it does have some nice features, so the MacZot price makes it very tempting.

Unfortunately, I find there are a couple of things that I don’t like about it. For one, when you export, whether by dragging out or by exporting, in PNG format, you don’t get a transparent background, and I don’t see a way to do that. Those One-Color Edges cry out for a transparent background. A few lessons can be learned from yellowmug.com’s EasyFrame.

Also, it would be nice to be able to grab the photo and move it around inside the frame, maybe zoom in so you can get only a portion of the photo, one face or one flower. The way it is now, you need to adjust/crop your photo before you import it.

The Real frames are the best. The Artistic frames are fine, and the One-Color Edges could use a lot more variety. Although, without a transparent background, I’m not sure how often I would use them. I wonder if we could make our own One-Color Edge designs and add them. You can with EasyFrame. Might be nice, also, to have a little more play in the shadow — bigger, darker. It seems a little limited.

It’s a nice application; the batch processing is great, watermarking is nice. I hope other people will post something on how they would or how they have used it. I want someone to say something that will make me really want to buy it.

Thanks to MacZot, I just now discovered this application and must say that I am impressed by both its simplicity of use and the elegance of its results.

A constructive criticism… Being one who would use this on a pretty limited basis, I personally think that it’s price point is very high. The pricing may inhibit development of a large, broad user base (along with the exposure, recommendations, and potential development revenue that typically derive from that.)

My typical EasyFrame frame results don’t come anywhere close to this. I resort to using Photoshop, along with considerable time and effort, when I want to create frames approaching the quality results this featured app produces in such short order. I think that this is a very nice application.

Other… the “features”, “screencasts”, and “gallery” links from here at MacZot seem to be broken. Visit apparentsoft.com to view them. (Nicely done site, BTW)

I too would be using this on a limited basis, so the zot price encouraged my purchase. The extent to which frames and mattes can be customized—and the professional quality achieved—makes this program a great find. I merely needed to watch the video half way through to know it was worthy of my purchase at this price. Great job.
