Serena Williams, Twitter and Zappos FTW

Zappos CEO Tony continues to do very interesting things with twitter. I will say it again; “twitter is whatever you want it to be.”
Tony is a great example of how a brand (and executives) can leverage twitter in new and interesting ways. Zappos and Twitter For The Win! (FTW)
He tweeted that he was going to interview Serena Williams and told people to tweet their questions and comments. What ensued is an interesting video interview with them reading the tweets together and her answering the questions. I love it. It makes the brand really transparent and engaging; this is the experience that people want from a brand and company.
This is the future. Follow Zappos here: http://twitter.com/zappos
Notice that the video is unedited and is very real. This is the personal experience and touch that Zappos brings to their brand and customers. I sure hope all the marketing, branding and business professionals are starting to “get” the value of twitter. It is potentially enormous.
Twitter, Zappos & Serena Williams FTW
UPDATE: Notice how after I blogged this, I tweeted it and it shows up on the zappos site immediately. That is immediacy and ultimate transparency. What is your brand doing with twitter?
