Somebody will inevitably complain about the cheesy results you get with tutorials like this, but I don't think that's fair. Sure, it's not an appropriate effect to launch a million dollar ad campaign with, but it can be great for a Christmas card and other trivialities. Not everybody has the talent to actually draw, but it's still fun to play around with things like this.

    Edit: The complaints are already in. I should type faster next time.

    Many of them are created by amateurs with no real skills.

    Insane might be a little strong for a title, I think Insane would be more like 1001 layers of vectors not a couple of filters.
