Ruby Developer, Los Angeles, Cheehee

Here is a brief list of the technologies the candidate (back-end engineer) will need to be familiar with:

• Ruby on Rails
• MySQL
• JavaScript/jQuery
• REST
• Linux

Responsibilities:

• Design/architect new features as part of our Ruby on Rails application(s)
• Maintain and refactor a production, high-scalability web site
• Work with product management in a close-knit team
• Contribute product, service, and business-improvement ideas and energy

Requirements:

• Extensive experience developing web applications, especially the back-end of high-scalability, consumer-oriented sites
• Must know Ruby/Ruby on Rails!
• Thorough knowledge with web standards, such as XHTML, XML, JavaScript, HTTP, CSS
• Strong data structure and OO-design skills
• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL, and extensive experience with MySQL
• Experience with Apache and Linux (RHEL or Fedora Core)
• Ability to be self-directed and contribute meaningfully to a team with minimal management oversight
• Helpful experience includes: Python, AJAX, Flash, Facebook/OpenSocial applications, and thinking up ideas that are just wacky enough to work
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science
